I'm on my second try now with starting from seed and it looks like both my seedlings got damping off again. They were both thing and brown at the base of the stem. I was using tiny pots about the size of a jiffy pellet with coco/perlite buffered and phd. The coco is some 2-3 year old bricks I had left over from walmart though that had holes in the wrapper. Does anyone here just drop their germed seed into clay pellets filled in a net pot? Will the roots eventually grow out of the bottom? Can the plant secure itself into the medium? I don’t want to deal with soil anymore. I have two net pots with two germed seedlings in there right now. I transferred my rockwool to the 5 gallon deep water culture buckets around 10 days ago. A few days back I saw the leaves were turning quite yellow on the plants and thinking it might be light burn raised the lights to around 32 inches above the plants. This formula comes out to a 3-1-4 NPK ratio. After reading so much I am considering adjusting the formula to different ratios. There are so many differing opinions! I was thinking 50 or 80 mesh, but not sure. I don't want to restrict flow to much, or have the misters clog up either. Not sure what mesh/micron screen would be the best. I'm at week 1. roots are not coming out of the net pot yet. I'm using; FloraGro FloraMicro FloraBloom Orca Water temp is steady at 68F. Hey everyone, New guy here. Been a long time grower (mostly rdwc) but am looking to get into aeroponics, and I've been making plans to build my own high pressure setup. Given the reasons why aeroponics works so well, I was wondering if it would be beneficial to put a small trellis in the bucket underneath the net pot to allow the roots to spread out and gain more exposure to the sprayers? Saw homebrewer's MC vs Dynagro challenge. So i go ahead and buy Dynagro Bloom from the hydroshop for 40 bucks to test out in bloom. I poured it into my reservoir just now...and I noticed a couple things. Its a one part liquid (sorry Megacrop). So easy to use...no repeated mixing. It looks really hydroponic friendly....barely changed the color of the water. Definitely not going to have to break my back scrubbing the hell out of the reservoir during water changes. Its not expensive either... Just started using Dynagro

Ive used Great White for years but lately the leftover powder sediment it leaves at the bottom of the reservoir has been bothering me so I gotta scrape it with a stick every time and it got annoying so Im using Orca now. Well I will NOT be recommending Apera anymore. Sorry to all those that bought one on my recommendation. My pen had a bad probe and I sent it in for warranty repair. Got a run around and stall and now they say it's out of warranty! They said it was covered according to my proof of purchase when I sent it in. I started researching on amazon and people say Apera didn't return their pen saying it was lost in the mail, so I told them I require a tracking numer for my pen. Others said Apera... I use house and gardens nutrients and was told to use the 700 scale setting on my meter (bluelab). I have a separate ec meter as well that I assume is set at 500... because when I set my bluelab to 500 I get the same readings as the other cheapy ppm meter, but ppm readings will change when I set it to 700. I am just curious though to why h&g's use 700 setting? Isn't ppm just ppm.. why would you have to use a different setting? Hello all, So I got some root rot few days ago and someone on this forum suggested i use Southern AG. Looks like they are recovering right? Should i be worried about the rot on some parts of the roots or just let it be and it will go away by itself? not sure what to do here? Is it me or is dwc not the most simple way to grow mj in general? I think more educated people should hit up the newbie section and really let people just starting out know all the benefits of growing hydroponicly. So I purchased a ice probe for my veg'ing unit. I'm impressed at its cooling capability. There's not a lot of info out their on these . So I wanna give y'all a bit of Info, one thing is, while they do make a controller, you don't need it to run the unit, in the photos on amazon, they don't show a plug, but it does come with one. I haven't been able to see how cold it will make my resivoir but the probe it's self got ice cold,so I would imagine that in an insulated res it should be able to... Hello all, I grow RDWC and intend to use GH Ripen for the last 10 days followed by a 3 day flush. Growing "Delicious Eleven Roses" which seems to be a genuine 8.5 - 9 week finish after flip. Intend doing a change out (apart from the inch or so in the bottom of the tubs) then feeding Ripen ONLY for 8 -10 days prior to a 3 day flush (does this sound about right?) Alright I have a stealth hydro type dwc. Got some Satori (3 weeks old) goin. About a week ago, I noticed some white slime on their roots, I think only the roots that were under water. Well I started a hydrogen peroxide run, following amounts I have seen on this board and others. It didn't help. I even picked off some slime covered root and put it in a bowl of peroxide, just to see if it was something that was immune to it. The shit bubbled and mostly disappeared after about 20 minutes... I've always had good luck with the cheap fixed flow inline/submersible ecoplus pumps. I think they are decent, reliable enough, despite the fittings being junk. Its here, and it looks like I may have a new MJ plant sprouting, although it looks weird for a MJ plant, has round leaves it seems, maybe it will change in a few days. Anyways, it is apparently growing good in a Jiffy Seed Starting mix. I am a little gun shy about pulling it out and putting in a hydroponics set up given how bad I killed the last MJ plant that sprouted with too many nutrients. I just fished out a bunch of roots in the pipes, as well as the return tube. It was fairly easy, but I do want to avoid it from happening again. I use panty hose/nylon stockings for air filters. I stretch them over ducting, and they work great at keeping stuff out. So, I think I'm going to try stretching one over the two 2" bulkhead return pipes. Can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. Opinions?

This is her 9th day she looks healthy in my eyes this is my first time doing dwc I get a ppm meter this friday I am using flora series as well as ph down with tap water i got a bottle of ice to keep the temperature down just incase . Ive tried several times to get clones to root in soil but for the 10 times i have tried none of them have rooted. I cut at a 45' angle then stick in water, cut about an inch up, dip in cloning solution then into soil. I heard rock-wool cubes work well so I bought some 2x2x2 cubes to use for cloning. So usually I change the rez (DWC) on avg about every 12 days. What are the effects if you let the rez change go into the 12-15 day range?? For example say I am running a 60 day strain. So say I change the rez out on day 38 and let the nutes run til day 53 and then I flush from days 53 to 60 and chop on day 60... Been very rough going last couple days, plant has gone from "oh, something is not perfect" to "OMFG its almost dead". I've got the General Hydroponics flora set on the way, as well as Calimagic. But it might not come in until early next week. I basically had in the res distilled water at the very beginning. I've got some Calimagic on the way, so I'm covered in the short term. But I have a ton of crushed oyster shell and coral, which is super high in calcium, guaranteed to be at least like 33% calcium. So let's say I were to take some distilled or RO water. Dump some of the crushed shells in there, then measure the water with a TDS (total dissolved solids, but I think all know that) meter. What is the level of TDS I should let the water hit before I remove the water, put it in a new... So, let's say I wanted to make my own calcium magnesium supplements... I usually run straight rockwool and by the time roots come out of the blocks there is enough shade that they grow everywhere in my tray. We have an ez-clone 128 low pro white. Keeping pH between 5.8-6.2. Temp is between 70-75 F. Kept everything sterile, dipped in clonex gel. Using RO water. This is a pic on day 5. We have no roots but have this gel-like substance forming. Doesn't just wipe off. You can actually peel it off in clumps, almost like silicone. This clone seems to be the worst of the bunch. Ive been watering everyday, plants loving it, always praying. 15 litre fabric pots with cannas coco professional plus 30 percent perlite mix. I feed my gals 2 liters of water each by hand daily, with a nutrient ratio of 15 ml of CANNA A and 15ml of B, 6ml of cannazym, 6ml of boost and 3ml of rhizotonic to 6 litres of water everyday, ive never had a problem. So, I transferred a seedling into my DWC about a week and a half ago. Since then, the veins have developed a slight purple colour, the leaves have been drooping like crazy, the bottom leaves have turned yellow and, most importantly, the thing hasn't grown at all. Below is a pic of my relatively young plant. It is growing in a rockwool (where I sprouted it) in a hydroponic type set up, in a net cup in a enclosed container with a bubbler. Originally I used spring water, but not too long ago I switched to using old fish tank water, I figured since it had lots of nitrates it would be good for it. And it seems to be great, for awhile. So now I've pulled all the plants out and as much of the root mass as possible and I'm ready to get another lot going. currently the tables are full of a highly concentrated chlorine solution, I was hoping to just leave them full over night and flush them a few times tomorrow and then just replant straight away. Okay, so my TDS meter showed up today and I did a quick test of my nutrient mix. It showed a PPM of 254 (which I assume works out to .508 EC?). Now, I had a chart that said the recommended 200-400 for the first week (I'm still in seedling stage). My question is, do I measure the water, "pre-nutrient" then add the nutrients until the readings equal the 200-400, or do I get the base number and add 200-400 to it? My first try at DWC bubble, 2nd water change out and I have root rot. Using Hydroguard from beginning. Cleaned everything with HP, was mostly sterile environment. Two pumps and three air stones. Lined tub with black neoprene, using neoprene net cup covers, no light issues I can see. Any ideas? Do I have to start over? Can I cut the root rot off? If I plant on growing in 100% perlite wha size pot would I need for 10 week veg and 10 week flower? can I get away with 20 weeks of growth in a 2-3 gal pot Without yield loss or should I bump up pot size?
