Input on small Pro Mix HP grow, por favor...

Hiya folks. I'm doing a quick run in my 2x2 to top my supply off before I move this summer. My first using PM HP for a full grow (flowered my last run in it due to a shitty batch of FFOF). Was originally planning on a single plant in a SCROG but have decided to run all four seeds that I germinated instead. 2x2x4 tent HLG QB 288 running @135 watts 4 Orkle in 1 gallon pots of PM Jacks Here is where I'd like suggestions. new low pressure aeroponic system

Not trying to sell anything just want to see how much interest there may be. I've done some grows in a DWC bubbler type system(DIY 5gal buckets) and as the plants got big it was soo hard to properly manage(check PH/EC, change water, etc). So from my own frustrations I developed a system, it still uses the 5gal buckets for the plant roots to grow in but a unique bi-directional valve allows the nutrient delivery and return drain to use the same pipe automatically. reservoir is getting muddy, Advanced Nutrients additives.

frustration is starting to grow using the A.N line. I've been very happy thus far but a few weeks ago I had an issue when adding big bud coco to the reservoir it was producing a slime. Well after cleaning and sanitizing all the autopots and reservoir I went back to a sterile mix with just base nutes and some calmag + bud candy/terpinator. Res/Nutes Change Frequency

Hi guys, I run a flood and drain systems, with 100gal res's that I change every 2 weeks. Recently, in a veg tent, I have seen slow/miscolored growth towards the end of a 2 week cycle (with E.C and PH are fine). I feel like I need to drop the res change frequency to every 10 days and see if this phenonemon shows again, however, I don't want the extra work of more res changes. How often do you guys change your nutrients? Should I investigate changing every 10 days, or even less? from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more

Top-feed Recirculating - with rezervoir at plant level using water level float valves?

I'm trying to setup a top-feed system that uses a rez that is not lower than the plants. Some flood and drain systems like Greentree do this by using a container (bucket) and small float valves (water level valves), that then pump the water back to the rez. The plant buckets are connected via hose to a bucket next to the rez, which I'll refer to as the rez bucket. Gravity causes the water to flow into the rez bucket after the plants have been fed. Is changing res water in dwc really necessary?

Theoretically, if you're keeping the water clean and roots healthy, couldn't you just keep adding fresh water to the res? ...along with nutes and (hydroguard) ... maintaining desired ph and ppm. Cloning issue - Ez-cloner - roots start then stalled

I have a ... well, shitty issue... I made few clones, put them in the ez-cloner, got roots in 6-7 days. But they are stuck, not growing at all anymore... Using R/O water, ppm at 170. PH 5.8, Temp 72-73. Water pump is running 24/24. Anyone experienced this? I'm not sure what the hell is going on. I always had a great success using oxyclone and now... I just want to put that thing back in the box :\ Thank you! from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more

Florakleen for eliminating salt buildup or plain water?

I run water to waste hydro hempy buckets in perlite with the GH maxi series fertilizer and I've done little to no maintenance on my buckets to address salt buildup. I've considered running something like Florakleen through if it helps wash away the accumulated salts, but I have no idea if it's just another snake oil product marketed to the cannabis industry or if it is useful. I'm leaning towards snake oil, but I thought I'd ask around to see what the consensus is among other hydro growers... Removing mineral salts buildups easily

Running a simple flood system. I get buildups of mineral salt residues from nutrient solutions in my reservoirs and on hoses, trays, etc. notably in tanks where I'm using Canna's PK-13-14 phophorus additive. My grow is cramped and hard to get at the tanks to clean them out as they are under the flood trays. I've built in a valving and drain system out of lawn irrigation parts to avoid having to get under them. When I need to dump my nutes (every 2 weeks), I just turn a couple knobs and... Advanced aeroponics - or how to get fuzzy roots and be a happy grower

Why aeroponics? Most people would agree that aero is the apex of hydroponics. Ok, maybe its more like some people would agree It is supposed to give you faster growth, faster harvests, bigger buds, higher yields, etc etc etc. Ok, fine. All of that is true – in theory. In my experience, YMMV Yes, I have seen significant increases in yield...and total disasters. Sometimes things move along at a break neck pace, and then you screw up and things slow down or stop. In other words, aero... Advanced aeroponics - or how to get fuzzy roots and be a happy grower from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more

Cleaning Hydroton 101

I know that anyone who uses hydroton in their growing endeavors really, really, hates the activity. I think I've found a simple and effective way to clean and dry your hydroton in just a little time with little effort. Enter the hair dryer. This was an idea that I had today. The idea seemed like it would work, so I gave it a try. What I've found is that this will dry the hydroton and dead roots when using the hair dryer. Agitate the hydroton with your... Bad or Good Film?

Howdy folks. video-1607179614 Watch "video-1607179614" on Streamable. streamable.com Using jacks 321 and have noticed that sometimes I get this film on top of the water and most of time I just toss it but I think that sometimes I'm just over thinking things and it may be beneficial? The complete asshole response I just got from a General Hydroponics rep...

I've been a long time user of GH's products. I've since switched from their liquid flora line to the dry maxi line. I only use their maxi powders, potassium silicate (armor si), and floralicous plus. Instead of burning through endless amounts of liquid cal-mag I switched to magnesium sulfate and calcium nitrate in dry form. It's much cheaper and I stocked up on both. I was looking at the GH feed chart for the maxi line and there's a small note about the required order of adding some products... Hydroponic methods

Studying hydroponics since 1983 discovered most all hydroponic methods are 19th century Hotch potch designs that have inherent defects. There is only one true hydroponic system and its method lay hidden for 3500 years it was the biggest hydroponic system this planet has or will ever see. Guess what LOL I discovered it and renamed it Nutrient Trickling Technique. What/where is this hydroponic system? Watering schedule top feed clay pebbles?

I recently started my first indoor hydro in clay pebbles top feed in Dutch bucket/DWC recirculating. I've grown outdoor for close to a decade but this is very different I'm finding out. I cant seem to dial in how often I need to water. Some say let it run 24/7 and some say 15min every 2 hours, that's currently what i am doing right now but just want to know others opinions incase I'm missing something. I am seeing little deficiencys, nothing major but I thought maybe I'm not watering enough... Watering schedule top feed clay pebbles? from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more

Ebb and flow. Rock wool in 4” net pots and 5gal buckets.

Hello all. I’m looking for some input on a system I just built from spare parts. Im fairly new to hydro so all tips are appreciated. I have 12 5gal buckets with 4” net pots that I’ve cut rock wool cubes to fit in. The net pots only hang about 4” down into the buckets. So far it seems good, I just transplanted the clones into them but I want to catch any issues before they happen. I’m thinking I’ll flood once a day until they get bigger and then maybe twice a day? Also should I add any media... Ebb and flow. Rock wool in 4” net pots and 5gal buckets. from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more
