Hydroponics / Aeroponics DWC PPM Confusion Again .. ( Nirvana NL ) Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has grown Nirvana's Northern Light (Reg) before in DWC ? . I am on my 4th DWC grow and am still experiencing issues with what is claimed to be one of the easiest strains in existence to grown indoors. If that's the case then I have no clue what so ever what I am doing wrong here. On my first run with this strain I had posted here with issues back then with nute burn and the plant adsorbing too much salts, damn thing was dehydrating itself and leaves... I’m wanting to try and use some powder nutrients that I can add to water myself and maybe adjust the NPK myself rather than paying a fortune for water. Here lately my water has been going down and so have my PPMs. I have a chiller and using bennies so I am trying to go two weeks between changes. My addback method: I started at 400ppm. Today I am at 340. This means the plants ate 60ppm's or 15% from where I started. I originally added 33ml each of GH Trio to the 18 gallons. 15% of my original 33ml is 4.9ml or so. Morining all. kay so I'm sick of manually feeding but dont want to overwater with a timer seeing my minumum cycle would be a minute at a time. Ive read that the shot size for the block is around 120 ml roughly .. I just got 1 spaghetti line stuck str8 into each block. Hydroponics / Aeroponics Is switching from soil to hydro worth the time,money, and effort. Soil is so simple. I'm wanting faster veg growth plus the possibility of increased yield. With soil, I mix the nutes, bubble for 24hrs, ph , and done. Very simple to me but with the slowest growing method imho. I tried dwc years ago but constantly trying to ph 15 individual buckets everyday got really old fast. Hydroponics / Aeroponics Water level Hello, I have a 2 site RDWC UC setup and I was just curious about water level for seedlings vs veg. What I have read is that when they are younger, you raise the water level up into the netcup a bit to allow the hydroton to stay wet, but once they are rooted a bit you lower it to about 2-3 " under the netcup? Also, Should I change this res out after only 1 week? It seems like its done nothing but recirculate. The plants haven't really been feeding off it, other than what ive been hand... Hydroponics / Aeroponics Hydrogaurd is better than Voodoo Juice I had one plant give my whole system root rot. I threw it in a stand alone bucket and instead of using voodoo i used hydrogaurd. Also used pirana tarantula sensizym and bases. The root rot came back for the plants in the system which had a cooler hooked up, the bucket didn't. All buckets in system and the standalone were cleaned the same way. The bucket in fact didn't even have duct tape around it for light proofing, just a plain lowes bucket. The standalone did get less direct sunlight tho... Hydrogaurd is better than Voodoo Juice more info...

Hydroponics / Aeroponics Can I drain dehumidifier water into hydro reservoir? I have a 30 pint Dayton dehumidifier removing moisture from a 10 x 10 room. I usually have to empty it out two to three times a day! It has an automatic drain option however I dont have anywhere to drain it. Can I drain the water directly into my reservoir? Hydroponics / Aeroponics Question about upping nutrients as plants grow. Hello. I have a couple Mama Mia's that are about 22 days or so from seed in a rdwc. I have been feeding them around 150ppm for a week and they seem to be growing well. My base water is 150ppm for a total of 300ppm. My nutrients have stayed at 300ppm steady all week. PH has stayed at 5.7-5.9 all week and I have not adjusted it yet. I am going to do a res change in a couple of days and was wondering if I should stick with 150ppm? After my reading and experiments in hydro, Im convinced less is more as far as the water to air ratio in hydro. That means systems like the Membrane meniscus technique, or HP aero or maybe true NFT, with a very thin layer of water rather than a flood of water, would all be "better" for the roots than things like DWC or E/F, etc, where the roots, or a major part of them, spend a significant time submerged.
