Hi all, got a question for all the RDWC experts here. Say my ppm was 990 on the 28th and today its at 910 , should i add back nuts or when do you add back nuts? my res has auto top off so water level is consistent and ph is spot on 5.8 all the time. I do a res change every 7 to 10 days so was wondering, do i just let the ppm keep dropping till next water change? or top it off to some point? and if so what point? back to 990? or higher lower? just trying to understand what is the logic... RDWC feeding topping off between res change?

So this is my first attempt at a flood and drain table, I have the girls in clay pebbles in 5 gal smart pots.. it floods every 4 hours for a total of 15 minutes and only turns on when the lights are on (was told not to feed them when the lights are off) the ph was a bit high at 6.5 the rpm of my neuts is around 550 and I'm running remo nutrient. My brother set this up, I usually do DWC and never have any issues. I think there needing more water cuz they clay doesn't hold moisture... but I... I'm currently running the Emerald Harvest 2 part with the full line of extras in my ebb and flow res and was wondering if I should change back to GH Floraduo 2 part which I used in soil on my first grow. First attempt at hydro 2nd attempt at growing. Call me crazy for moving fast but I like the challenge. Just some pointers on getting it dialed in. This has probably been asked a million times but no amount of search queries will get me to the answer I'm looking for so forgive my newbie question. I've got a seedling just emerging from rockwool. I soaked the rockwool in PH corrected water but aside from that I have not provided any nutrients for the seedling. It is just getting its cotyledon leaves and is looking good. Sup everyone, welcome to thread that will contain the journey of this LPA build and setup and prob its inaugural run. Ive been wanting to try aero or rdwc for a bit, i figure a nice winter project isnt such a bad idea. The plan: i will run 4 totes(1 plant per) off a 40g res, feeding a manifold thats connected to all tote sprayers. Runoff will be drained out the bottom and back into the res. Materials : 4 x 27gallon Rectangular totes, 29"x20"x15" 1 x 40 gallon low rise reservoir 1 x 800... Low Pressure Aero build...it has begun!

Hi all. I have switched from using coco to flood and drain, and this is my first run. I'm running 18 x 14 gallon tubs with clay pebbles, they are fed from an 80 gal reservoir. When fully pumped out the nutrient level comes up to about an inch below the surface of the pebbles. It pumps up in 8 mins and drains in 30 mins and repeats every hour. The temp in the grow space is 27C, the res is situated outside the building and is cooled by a heat exchanger (it's summer here) so it sits around 20C... first time flood and drain project, major PH problem. Hello let me share my issue. I purchase some beautiful teens ( Alien ET and Cherry Chemdawg), they are planted in 1 gallon pots. I grow in Bato buckets with 4 " net pots. The 1 gallon pots are larger than the net pots so I carefully removed as much soil as I could, but the roots ( they were root bound ) I trimmed off the bottom of the roots. I'm having some trouble with the cheap tds / ppm meters giving inaccurate readings and ordered a truncheon on the recommendation of a friend. I'm told the truncheon gives more accurate readings in both EC and 500 scale PPM. Is it worth the nearly $100 I spent on this thing or am I just burning my money?

Would all you hydro growers out there post what kind of nutes you guys use? And also, can u post what ppm ranges that u keep for the different stages of plant growth. Pics would be great too. Im new to the hydro thing and would like to get a general idea of what everyone elses PPMs run. So i am experimenting with my LED lights and i think i might of given my plants a little light burn. I am using fluence spydr 2p with dimmer. initially it was about 20" from the top of the plants and dimmed down to 30% which was using about 213 watts each light ( i have 2 of them in a 4x8 tent ) Decided to increase the lights to 40% and this is what happened( see pics ) on a few of the clones. They have been in my RDWC for 12 days. I did a ton of research and i came up with light burn... is this light burn ?

I've become a huge fan of drain to waste in coco. (For the skeptical, drain to waste does not have to be wasteful. In fact I find it saves water if done properly.) Here's the setup... 6, 5 gallon smartpots in a bathtub, filled with coco coir. Clones started in coco coir, and transplanted into the smartpots. GH maxi series + Botanicare cal+mag, pH at 5.8 My reservoir has a circulation pump, and a feeding pump. The feeding pump turns on once per day, and feeds the plants through home... On the internet I see different water pumps. Some are 12V / 24V and others are 110V / 220V. If you use such a pump in your house, it seems to me that a pump 110V / 220V would be easier. So i have my air pump turning off for 30 min every 2hrs to give it some rest. I was wondering what you guys think about this? also i was thinking maybe when it turns off it would give the roots some time to rest. do u guys think this is a good idea or a bad idea? should it be on all the time? or say off less frequent or more frequent? i have everything automated so its easy to set whatever parameter i want.

I have 18 Skywalker and 8 Black eyed Katy plants. My medium is 20% chunky perlite on bottom and Royal Gold Tupur(coco blend) on top. I am using advanced nutrients connoisseur line with expert level additives. I just started week 4 of flowering. I have been using the whole 55 gallons split into 3 separate watering per day. Hello everyone and thanks in advance for helping me... So I received some clones Saturday afternoon and they were all healthy and rooted in rockwool cubes. They survived the ride home and then I placed them in coco pots and into the tent.... Next day they are all dropping except for my sundae driver 19 ... I have my light on the lowest level and is raised to the top of the tent. Now I charged the coco with clonex solution. Orca and recharge at 440 ppm and 5.9 ph. Temps have been 73-77... Pretty new to this stuff guys so i was wondering if i can cut these bad/burned looking leafs off? I changed the water 2 days ago after I saw ph was 4.7. Change water, set the ph to 6.1 w/ 2ppm chlorine and now is 5.4 and going down. Today a added 2 ppm more to see what happens, what are you thoughts?

Can someone explain to me how to top up a reservoir (rez)? I just don't get it...

Just wondering what everybody prefers as their veg nutrient for hydro. I've run a ton of different stuff over the years - GH3, Dyna, HG, MC, V&B, Maxi, probably one or two others I'm forgetting. I'm about to start a run using J321 from start to finish. I was hoping to get some input about what others prefer. Please disregard price for this discussion - just interested in results, PH stability, etc. And for the sake of discussion, I run ebb&flow in LECA with RO. Thanks guys. Hello, pH is at 5.8 Water temps 60 ppm 1200 Humidity 44, temps 72 They are at week 7 of flowering; LED lights are 20 inches from canopy, before I had very intense lights at 16 inches away and thought light burn because of the top buds turning white .. so I replaced them with the one I’m using now at 20 inches away and much weaker .. no change tho. The leaves are showing brownish/ orange leaf tips are crispy and pointing down as seen in pic. What am I doing wrong ?!?

So I've completed my 5 tote system with waterfalls in each tote. I did a leak test and noticed my waterfall pump drained my res before my chiller pump could fill it back. My questions are did this only happen bc I only partially filled my totes? Or do I need equally strong pumps on each end?

hey i got a few seedlings around 2 weeks old. first time starting them in a hydro setting. their in rapid rooter plugs, have a few roots reaching the water. water is 65 F has around 200ppm from.ro. and ph of 5.8 (calmag + GH trio) temp is 77F in the tent now and i have lights on for 24hours as of today. (lights off temp was too cold) this is my worse looking n best looking of the bunch. let me know what you think. not sure if they could use more food or what. i also havent been hand... slow seedlings
