SOG

Im planning to do a sea of green with like a 1-2 week veg (so I guess technically not a real sog) Going to be doing it in 6” rockwool cubes. Going to put 50 in a 4x4 flood table I plan on using drippers 5x5x6.5 ft tent. I’ve seen about 1g/1w. If I’m using a 1000w mh/hps light And 50 plants in there, would I only be able to pull about 1 gram per watt? Of course I know it’s dependent on strain and environmental factors. I’ll be able to control the humidity and temps in there, so that... SOG June 30, 2019 at 08:57PM Read more about this fix

GH Flora trio

So i have been using the GH Flora trio and mixing it according to their charts. It seems to me that the Flora Micro (N) is WAY WAY too much. So i cut it back by 60% for bloom and 50% for veg. Has anybody else doing the same? Also, if i mix according to their charts with RO i end up with a ppm that is at the very top of the range and found it too be WAY WAY too much (over feeding probs). So... i am curious about what adjustments to make and what adjustments other people are making... to... GH Flora trio

help me with dwc nutes please

I am using the Advanced Nutrients Ph Perfect Grow Micro Bloom stuff. If I follow their full strength recommendations the leaves turn crispy and likely would kill the plant. I've been using about 500ppm in veg starting at 5.8ph. I let it raise until 6.3 then knock it back down to 5.8. I try to maintain 400-600ppm's. This is working but I fear going any higher will burn them. When going into flower should I up the ppm's by 100ppm and wait until I see burn, or is it safe to just stick to... help me with dwc nutes please June 29, 2019 at 11:39PM Read more about this fix

Irrigation Manifold or Air Stone

I just came across this rather interesting design that instead of using air stones uses a PVC sprayer manifold: What are your guys thoughts on this design? Are air stones still better, cuz it looks like the sprayer provides much better aeration. June 29, 2019 at 07:07PM Read more about this fix

What are you favorite nutrients?

I am growing in a DWC setup with a scrog and COB LED. I currently use GreenLeaf's MEGACROP with CalMag and Great white(baccilus). I am thinking of trying their Sweet candy, bud explosion and their Kelp concentrate. What do you guys use and have you tried the above? If so what are your experiences? Perhaps the best advice for hydro you will ever get

Now I am totally serious here, measuring your nutes in hydro just sucks. There is nothing easy about pouring out a gallon size bottle, using measuring cups, syringes and then pouring the left over back into those bottles. Complete waste of time. Few months back I had had enough of it. I am only ashamed that it took me 20 years to think of this. Like they say on Shark Tank, there has got to be a better way. Here it is. Can someone tell me how to make diy rdwc system

I have four 17 gallon totes that hold approx 10 gallons of water. 1 or 2 plants per tote. Guy at my hydro store didn't tell me much on how to make it and when I asked how to connect tubing/pvc he said just drill the size hole and put tubing in it and it won't leak. the tubing for undercurrent. also if someone could tell me how to do waterfall effect too would be appreciated

Which would produce more DO in a DWC?

I've got an Active Aqua 60W, 70 L/min pump coming for my 4x5 gallon bucket UnderCurrent build. An 8 output manifold comes with it. What I'm wondering is, would 2 air stones per bucket produce more dissolved oxygen than 1 air stone per bucket at twice the pressure (because 4 of the outputs would be shut off)? Considering giving hydro another go

I ran a small dwc set up a few years ago but due to space constraints, heat & lack of experience I gave up on it. Mainly, repeated cases of root rot. I now have more space to grow in & a bit more of a budget. What ever I go for needs to be fairly quiet. The room that the set up will go in has a window which is about 2 meters away from & a meter above a public foot path so I need to keep the noise levels down. I presently run drip to waste using coco where I manually drain the plant trays... Considering giving hydro another go June 27, 2019 at 12:28AM Read more about this fix

What nutrients to use that are pretty simple?

I've been using AN sensi with the hobbyest level additives. I've been using it with decent results but I just hate that there's a million other additives and when I do run into a problem I get confused since my ppm, ph, and environment is good. Don't really mind price if it's only a few bottles that includes all macros/micros

Automatic PH Control for under $150

Thought I'd share this since it's completely eliminated my need to manually adjust PH. Pictured below is a PH Down drip line controlled by a solenoid switch and a Milwaukee Instruments PH controller. Perpetual Harvest Hydro

Can someone explain in layman's terms how you would do a perpetual grow in hydro? What's the logistics of the time frame in taking clones, rooting them, veg, and flowering without running out of space in the flowering room, and, being that it's a hydro setup, how are you going about transferring plants from one room to another?

Uncle Ben's Topping Method in DWC

Hello RIU members! So, after growing autos for years I've begun trying my hand at photoperiod, and decided I was going to use Uncle Ben's method of waiting for 5-6 nodes, then chopping just above the second true node. My question is, due to the fact that I'll be basically chopping the plant in half, how much should I reduce my ppm's? Maybe by half? Or would I be better off to do a regular topping, wait a few days for the two dominant branches to grow up, and then top each of those two as... Uncle Ben's Topping Method in DWC

Evaporation and PH

Hey guys, a quick question. In regards to DWC/RDWC So if you start with a certain amount of PH 7 water and use some acid to drop it to 5.8, would evaporation over several days cause a slight PH drift down? The evaporating would effectively concentrate the acid since there is a less amount of water, no? Pretend there are no plants or other factors causing a PH decrease. AN ph perfect and tap water help

Tap water 7.6-7.8 ppm ~300 Do I add ph down to get to around 5.9/6 and then add the ph perfect grow micro bloom? I see it falls down to 5.6 and about 600ppm. Also for bloom am I really using 44ml per 3 gal of water? That sounds like a recipe for nute burn
