I am growing dwc and as the pictures show I have yellowing leaves with rust colored spots. Initially I thought it might be the beginning of light burn as it is only on a few leaves at the top of plant. So I raised the light. That didn't help. So then I thought maybe it was a calmag issue so I upped the calmag to 3 ml per gallon. That doesn't seem to have worked. So I thought I would ask you guys. I notice theres darker green around the veins and the margins are lighter green. Not sure if this is just uneven Nitrogen or if its lacking Magnesium. The first pic is using Element Nutrients Complete Crop and Myco+ in DWC pH is 5.9 it floats from 5.5 to 6.2. The water temps are 74 cause its in a closet until the last 2 skunks finish flower in 1 -2 weeks then it will go into the tent that is 69-70F on the ground and ventilated. Got a question about what to use in my ebb and flow system. I have on hand flora nova bloom and mega crop 2 part and my tap water is 330ppm so wondering is flora nova ok to run in ebb and flow with tap water with that high ppm? I can use the mega crop but I like the simplicity of the flora nova bloom. I have ran the system before but used 19-4-23 from start to finish. I was reading Jorge Cervantes' book and it was talking about more watering cycles with less time was better, and to cut down ECs to .6 - .8 in flower (I think). So I'm week 2 Flower, at 1.8 EC, 10 minutes pump on time at lights on. (ran thru late veg at 1.5) Spiked to 2.2 burned em. Made me seriously consider margins of error. I've done some grows in a DWC bubbler type system(DIY 5gal buckets) and as the plants got big it was soo hard to properly manage(check PH/EC, change water, etc). I finally sprouted a couple seeds (afghan) in rapid rooters!! but i have a few questions! I used rapid rooters to germinate/sprout in a dome/tray and used a water bottle to spray and keep everything moist.. then after a week i transplanted to the hydroton. the bottom of the rapid rooters are like 1/4-1/2" from the flood level. My plants are at the stage now where I'm adding a gallon of water every other day to the 5 gallon dwc buckets. I'm not sure if I should be adding hydroguard every time I top off? It would make sense for me to, but it could be the hg bacteria is not all absorbed in the water the plant drinks, and if so I'd be gradually increasing the hydroguard strength in the res if I'm replacing .5 tsp every time I add a gallon of fresh water. First question in years. I’ve always been a grow in dirt guy but was curious about DWC that I haven’t found anywhere else. Is water temperature that important? I have my space with temps around 73 lights on and around 66-67 lights off. Hi all, I made a top fed DFT system. It has about an inch of water in the tray at all times with an air stone to keep it oxygenated. It recycles via the overflow to the reservoir down below. Once the roots where hanging out the bottom of the pots I covered the tray/table with plastic to stop any light from getting to the roots. It was bottom fed, on a constant cycle. I'm designing some 3d printable bulkheads for RDWC systems, and I'm just looking for some input/feedback. The biggest potential issue I see is that it has to be installed from the inside, as opposed to commercially available options, but I haven't been able to come up with a better solution that is still relatively easy to print. They will also only work on a flat surface. Ok so I am growing in coco for my second grow. For the first coco grow I followed a technique of frequent fertigation watering three times a day. This worked very well but it was started with larger plants so I think they were able to breathe better.
