PH dropping and EC rising

Hi need some help. I have just changed to bloom nutrients, and had a EC reading of 1.8 and PH of 5.8, water levels dropping, but next day or even 12 hours later my PH drops to like 5.2. Not sure what's going on, and EC just keeps rising, I want it to feed not keep adding more water to res. Any help? Persistent Brown Algae Infection, Please Help

Hi everyone. At my end battling a bad brown algae infection. Let me give you some set up info. Running a top drip Wilma system, net pot lids on buckets with clay pellets and roots suspended in air underneath feeding 10 mins every hour. Luckily this means my roots are still currently white. I have a 15W air pump and huge rubber air stone, a water chiller set to 16C/61F. 4x2x5 tent and hydroponics w scrog

Hello. So after 3 months of work on my plant which turned out to be a hermie AND re-vegged due to, apparently, Nitrogen overdose + stress from stretching into LEDs and burning, I decided to cut her. I opened the tent after 3 days of not touching it, and the seeds were everywhere. Pollen spreading around, it was a mess. So that's gone, it was my first grow and I definitely learned a big lesson that costed a lot of money and time. pH rising like crazy! First ever DWC. Help!

Hi everyone, after 10 years growing in soil, i went for a diy DWC system. Seedlings went into the netpots in rockwool, 2 days ago. I use tapwater. EC of the solution was .71 on day 1, .67 on day 2 and .66 today. I was expecting the pH to fluctuate a bit and that’s why I have been measuring it daily, but the results are shocking. It went from 5.8 to 7.5 in 24h. Used pH-down to about 5.5 and today it was at 7.5 again. Used pH down to 5.4 and within one hour it has gone to 6.5 again. Temps... pH rising like crazy! Amount of water question for my tomato plant

I have a 60-80 GPH pump, it pumps 3 times a day for 2 minutes each time. Every dripper produces about 1 and a 1/4 cup of water during those 2 minutes. I will be be seeding into a 1 and 1/4" cube, then transplanting into a 4" cube... PPM and EC discussion

So I wanted to see what people have to say about this discussion. I'm running a 25 gallon reservoir, it's a flood and drain setup on a 2x4 tray filled completely with hydroton. It has two plants. Throughout the grow I have seen ppm and ec slowly rising. Plants have been healthy thoughoit cycle however is this due to overfeeding? Obviously they drink water too and there is some evaporation. Should I be topping off water ever two days or so? Is this due to ppm eventually accelerating too... High EC leads to dropping PH?

High Guys I have a question. I've had quiet some time growing in soil and it all went fine. I switched to hydro about a year ago with well... Ok results. Pulled around 300-350g on 4x4 with 400 watts. I am using the Lucas Fomula on RO water with Cal/Mg to EC 0.2 Top feed with clay pebbles watered every hour. My big question is the EC. I'm at Bloom Day 30 atm and in all of my grows I never made it to an EC higher than 1.2 As soon as I go higher my ph starts to drop and I have to bring it up... 98% Pure h2so4?

I was reading a thread from 2012 on the forums about sulphuric acid (h2so4) and on Amazon it was cheap. 1 gallon DI/Distilled water and 1 tbsp of it would make the same concentration of pH down as GH's gallon for far less. The problem is I am no chemist, so I go on Amazon to find 98% pure to find far less in 2022, or is behind those chemist table numbers where you have to dig VERY deep (using SDS/MSDS) to find the percentages. The truth about super cropping cannabis plants

  It's difficult to tell the truth sometimes on the net about cannabis growing to new and old growers. I like to praise people in posts for their amazing understandings of lst, supercropping, topping, feeding etc etc etc. But not all is true, so rather me getting hated for going against someones beliefs i'll not post what i know is the truth which most hate unfortunately Supercropping isn't what you think it is ..... It's only designed to make the stem on tall sativas stronger with the knuckle so the heavy colas don't break n bend in windy weather or just because of the weight of the top cola ... People used to employ a supercropper to pinch all the stems in their huge fields many moons ago just like some employ trimmers. It doesn't send lots of nutes to the tops to make them bigger, it sends lots of hormones to the healing wound/knuckle to fix it slowing growth rate a few days or so. New to hydro and in need of advice

So I'm dipping my toes into RDWC, and am finding that everytime I find an answer to my question, Im also left with more questions. So I'm basically looking for someone knowledgeable in RDWC to look at my setup and tell me if it looks okay, as in functional.. I'm running 2- 12 gallon totes with a 5 gallon control bucket. A 370gph active aqua duel pump A 40L/min air pump running (6) 2" airstones(2 in each tank) with the net pots I can put about 12 gallons in before hitting net pot bottom. And... Dropping nitrogen for a flowering plant

One of the problems with my last grow was excess nitrogen. I fed it according to GH (actually it's a clone of GH) schedule, but it looked like it overdosed on it with the shiny leaves that clawed down, and then it revegged. Finally, I had to chop it and destroy it because it hermied. The new plant, like the old one, drinks a lot of water. Roughly a gallon per day, maybe a bit less but I add around 20 liters (4 gallons) of water every 3 days. It's in a 10 gallon tote. Now my second plant is... Aeroponics - SCROG for the roots?

Hey everyone, New guy here. Been a long time grower (mostly rdwc) but am looking to get into aeroponics, and I've been making plans to build my own high pressure setup. Given the reasons why aeroponics works so well, I was wondering if it would be beneficial to put a small trellis in the bucket underneath the net pot to allow the roots to spread out and gain more exposure to the sprayers? I use flood & Ebb tables. I had salt or whatever buildup before, so I "flush" by adding plain h2o and set to flood every hour for a day or two. (I should probably change the water after that buy I'm getting lazy AKA It's good enough") I found out after growing a bit, if you add silica to your plants, do it BEFORE anything else is added. I added silica and then realized I should flush-so I did with the silica in it anyway for 1-2 days, then add my Jacks. I flushed at 5 weeks and 10... Algae build up in my flood table, but because of the color?

hiya, Real quick I got tired of the kiddie pool plastic revivors, so I dropped over $200 on a WHITE heavy-duty table that still cost $5 in recycled plastic to make, but it's 5 x heavier at least. ANYWAY, always had black tables, grow always the same way in regard to watering,microbs,feed etc.. !st time I ever got green algae over the whole table. DW hydroponics - Newbie questions

I’ve got a few questions about my setup if anyone can help please? Should I leave my water pump on 24/7? Same with the extraction fan? Would a CO2 bag make a big difference and should it remain in the tent? I measured the water PH and it 3.5, from what I can understand it should be 5.5 - 6.0. Nute & Reverse Osmosis questions For Hydro

When I grew in the past I always used Fox Farm nutes. I was looking at Jacks nute line, as I’ve heard nothing but good things. I’m also shopping around trying to figure out what RO system to even get for my city water. I dry ran my setup to check for leaks and all I can smell in the control bucket is chlorine, BAD! Flood/drain- rockwool/hydroton, how often to flood

Rigged water alarm for ebb and flow

I’ve had issues with my pumps not turning on for various reasons. pulled plugs myself on accident Forgot to reinstall tubing to pumps after cleaning Kasa timer failures I figure a pump failure is next, and the last incident really hurt my yield. Anyway I bought a couple govee water detectors because I thought I could get a phone notification every time they flood. Turns out they are “waterproof” but there are different kinds of waterproof. Hydrofarm 5 gal ebb and grow help

I have a hydrofarm ebb and grow 5 gal system. The roots keep clogging the drain lines in early flower, I even trimmed the roots twice in veg. Any suggestions to solve this problem? It's really a pain, has killed a few plants already. I am thinking fabric pots in the unit or possible paint strainer bags. New DWC System Ph Climbing Wildly

Solved but future reference for others since I couldn't find an answer... Ph was needing adjustment 4 times a day - waiting until it hit 6.3 or so and then dosing down to 5.2 with a citrus based Ph down. Switched to a phosphoric acid based Ph and now it's stable as a rock. Suspected there were too many bubbles in the pots, nope. Water temp, nope. Didn't rinse the clay balls enough, nope. Simply changed the Ph down solution from citric to phosphoric acid and all the problems went away...
