I have been looking around for a good ec meter that i can rely on. I have seen in a lot of youtube videos people using bluelabs. I currently have an Apera EC20 and while it feels like a good product i dont know if i trust the readings. I calibrated it like 1 week ago and today it was off by like 20 to 30 points , aka i tested my nuts water before calibration and it was at 1213 then after calibrating it i got 1175. i dont know if this amount of swing is acceptable or not. Is using enzymes and uc roots (or pool shock) at the same time in my resevoir redundant or will it work? I'm using enzymes for what I believe to be stopping salt build up. But I have some dirty resevoir so I want to use pool shock to stop it. (Brown gunk on the walls and bottom sometimes. And a film on my pump) I use jacks321 which is relatively clean untell I add mpk later in flower. At which point salt city on everything. Need some help please, things have been progressing nicely through my grow. I’m still very much learning with only a year/4 grows under my belt. Hi folks, I in the middle of my first time growing in coco (Super Skunk - week 2 of flower). This is also the first time that I've bothered with checking EC. I never checked it while growing in DWC and it never was an issue. Anyway, I just measured my inflow and got an EC of 2.6, my runoff EC was 1.02 and 1.05 in two plants respectively. I am a little baffled by this. Shouldn't my runoff be higher than my inflow? Also, the feeding chart (Fox Farms) says the inflow EC should be no higher... I've been growing NFT for eons. I know it. I know it well. I can run a 40 litre GT424 all day long in a 4x4 tent - I know how to keep the PH in control, and the Nutes. I'm well versed in it and never have root problems. Temps are UK temps and therfore easy to keep the tank/nutes at a reasonable temp. I grow cuttings and seedlings in a bubble cloner. I'm hitting a yield cap in my tent 4x4ft (it's actually an 8x4 but I use the other half for cloning/seeding). No matter what I do I currently... I'm wondering if this is from nutrient burn? The ppm was increased slightly from 550 to 650 (baseline of well water is 200 ppm). I wouldn't think that wouldve had such a big effect. I'll try to keep this brief, I was looking to put together a RDWC setup in my spare room, I was going to so a simple setup like the one below 4-8 Gallon pots ScrOG etc. 2 1/2 months harvest. I’ve got a flood and drain setup and I set the pH to 5.8. The plants were growing slowly and they had deficiencies even though I was using good nutes. I let the pH drift to 6.1 and the plants started growing better. Is it possible that some plants prefer a different pH than the standard 5.8? I have a plant growing in a 3 inch netpot and I want to transplant it to root spa bucket which has a huge 10 inch netpot. I won't take the plant out of the smaller netpot. Rather I intend to just sit the smaller netpot inside the larger one with hydroton surrounding it. The problem is that there are already good amount of roots coming out from the bottom. Decided to attempt a 3d Printed undercurrent Hydroponics system (UC RDWC) , as they are very good systems but just cost a stupid amount of money. It seems that things like the large tank connectors realy drive to cost up. i also seem to have collected a lot of filament that i can use to print most parts except the 110mm pipes and the quality square buckets i found. I've been running GH's maxi grow and bloom for about a year and a half. I was mixing my fertilizer on demand the day of watering up until recently when it became advantageous and highly convenient to keep holding reservoirs of premixed solution on hand. Within 48 hours the reservoir would go cloudy forming white precipitate. By 72 hours the res was completely trashed. I've tried multiple solutions to remedy the issue and have since given up. So it's day 31 and just before the day 21 strip I was noticing my leaves were going light green on me so I added 25% mag to my feed because I run leds. Before flip everything was green lush but after stretch that's when I began to notice it but I thought it was because of the red in the spectrum it was an illusion of color. High all!! I am having problem with calcium deficiency in my coco grow, and unfortunately I do not have access to calmag, not even mail order... I've tried dolomite lime mixed on my coco which only caused lockout issue due to ph problem. I got rid of the dolomite by flushing with shitload of water... So I know dolomite won't work.... Does anyone have any experience with adding gypsum to coco?? I've been told that it will work on coco and gypsum will not affect ph like dolomite does. TIA...
