I made a fogponics clone station without realizing fogponics or really even aeroponics existed. This is all very new to me but I'm eager to learn. My fogger is an ultrasonic humidifier. I can't put it on a timer so it has to constantly run. Will constant flowing fog on a stem cause rot? The leafy areas of the stem are in a separate area and aren't touched by the fog if that makes a difference. I am currently using blumats with no run off so I think you guys may have some insight here. The medium is never getting dry, however I noticed some slight curling, and figured it was ph, so wanted to catch it early. I took them to a little manual run off and it was low, around 5.5 (ingoing 5.9 max ) This is week 4 or so, however they have been on around 50 elemental ppm of P over the last two weeks, due to the natural P in the base. Thinking about using it on my next cycle. I wasn't all that impressed with the 7-15-30 finish formula. It just wasn't a game changer. Due to operator error I screwed my plants in the first 2 weeks of flower by under feeding. Got a nasty K deficiency that I don't want to happen again. So I have recently heard that actually hydro flowers have been tested with less heavy metals than organic ones. This is thought to be due to the high amount of heavy metals present in organic soil amendments. So now the question, does this mean that our bodies will be better off using hydro-grown flowers? Well this is my 2nd not so successful round of cuts in the aerocloner. I'm going on 9 days and only 3 or 4 cuts out of a total of 60 are showing roots. The PH is 5.5-6.0, running plain RO with a dose of beneficial tea. PPM 50, temp, 74F. I am currently running the pump 24/7, my question is, do I need to put this damn thing on a cycle timer in order to get it to work? Who here uses a timer? And what cycle is it running, 15 on, 15 off? So I recently got an interest in growing things by starting windowsill herb garden. I started with a few dirt planters but quickly got interested in the kratky jars I would see on reddit and youtube. It is like DWC but without an air pump, where as the plants drink the nutrient solution they create a moist air gap and they grow air roots. This is my 7th crop on this ebb&flow hyrdroton system in a 2x4 tray with 240wLED. I switched from clones to seeds a couple crops ago. When I grew in the past I always used Fox Farm nutes. I was looking at Jacks nute line, as I’ve heard nothing but good things. I’m also shopping around trying to figure out what RO system to even get for my city water. I dry ran my setup to check for leaks and all I can smell in the control bucket is chlorine, BAD!
