I have well water that is acidic. 5.2ph today. My water also has a fairly low alkalinity @ 23.3 ppm. i understand 20ppm-200ppm is normal. (I had the water tested by a lab) From what I understand, alkalinity has to do with waters ability to buffer ph. I mixed up some maxibloom today @60grams/15gal to give me 1.1ec in my reservoir and this dropped the ph to 3.94! It took 43ml of GH PH UP to raise the ph to 6.0. Just wondering if there are any off the shelf solutions for this? it's a bigg ol' tank so I was thinking I could rigg up a hose from the tent room to the bathroom with a pump like THIS for occasional refills/drains, but I'd need to give the pump it's own little power supply so I can wrap the whole thing up and out of the way when I don't need it. I’ve had a Hanna instruments groline monitor for my hydroponics setup and it did great for a while and now it goes a few days and then shows my ph has dropped to 4.34 and won’t change the temp amd ppm will change but stuck on ph. Hey Gang! Quick question about nutrient uptake in DWC: Does anyone know if plants consume the nutrient solution as a whole, or are some nutrients consumed faster than others. For example, if a plant consumes a gallon of water, would it also consume 100% of the total dissolved solids in that gallon? Or can it consume something like nitrogen faster than magnesium and over time throwing off the concentration of nutrients in the solution. I haven’t been able to find any information on this... Title says it all and this never happened to me before. I've underfeed the plant or overfeed the plant a little in DWC and the rez is stuck at 6.3ph. I will use ph down to get it to 5.5-5.8 range and the next day its up to 6.3 again. What's going on?? Hello everyone, I'm about to change my setup to hydro. Right now I'm between DWC and the GHE Hydro System. I've got 3 tents, a 0,45mX0,45m for sprouting and early vegging. For the first time in a while I am going to try and give my Plants exactly the amount they consume of nutrients and no more! in Flowering. This is what I try and do in Veg but for some reason since they drop their nutrient drawn down by over 30% after the flip, I have a hard time going that low i.e. 600 PPM This is looking to be around 600PPM and no-more. IS there any reason except maybe a smaller reservoir to go above the nutrient concentration that they are consuming in the exact ratio... I am modifying my Power Grower RDWC systems to have a 13 Gallon Reservoir. And in general my tendency has been to make my PPM stronger then what they actually consume nutrient wise! I have done this because they don't seem to burn and because they can consume the whole entirely of the reservoir in one day at their peak flowering cycle. I have a hydrofarm ebb and grow 5 gal system. The roots keep clogging the drain lines in early flower, I even trimmed the roots twice in veg. Any suggestions to solve this problem? I find myself dumping about 1.5 gal of water a day from my dehumidifier. I decided to test it out with my meters & it tested at a PH of 5.7 and a ppm of only 4. Decided to attempt a 3d Printed undercurrent Hydroponics system (UC RDWC) , as they are very good systems but just cost a stupid amount of money. Running Gelato 41 along the back wall with purple push pop & kush mints and a few red velvet. Love the verity of strains but they are somewhat mixed in to the sea of green set up running. I use 26 ppm water for my DWC system. No nutes, no additives, nothing. pH is around 7.2. I lower the pH to 5.8-6.0 using Terra Aquatica pH down, and after like 3-4 hours, pH goes back to 7.0. I again add pH down and reach 5.8 pH, wait another 4-5 hours and it is still the same. I repeated at least 5-6 times. I changed the container several times, now I use a food grade container, and the result is still the same. Same happens if I add nutes as well. I lost many seedlings due to pH... Sup fam, need a little advice. I was using a dtw approach in coco. After my droppers clogged while I was away I decided to go ebb and flow to eliminate the emitter issue again. I have two 20 gallon brute trash cans that I use as rez for my tents. My question is this, will I be able to use these as a rez despite them being taller than the table? I recently switched to canna coco nutes. Using tap water which comes out around 0.17- 0.2 EC. I was following the canna feeding chart since it seems pretty precise since you can adjust to your tap ec, rez size, etc... After adding the A/B, rhizo, cannazym and ph down my EC comes out between 1.7 to 1.9. This can't be right, or is it? I am even giving an ml or two less than canna recommends. Well I've got the High Grade scope that supposedly tells you how much you're THC %is within 3% give or take. They also have other features as well like growers help. So I sent them a few pictures and they told me it looked as if I may have bud rot and to trim the rotted buds and go ahead and start my curing process with the rest. Hello. So after 3 months of work on my plant which turned out to be a hermie AND re-vegged due to, apparently, Nitrogen overdose + stress from stretching into LEDs and burning, I decided to cut her. I have always grown with DWC. I normally just grow one monster plant in a 3x3 SCROG and have had some pretty awesome results. At my local grow shop, I was talking to the owner about recirculating drip systems and it definitely sounds like that method is less of a headache compared to DWC.
