pH rising like crazy! First ever DWC. Help!

Hi everyone,

after 10 years growing in soil, i went for a diy DWC system.
Seedlings went into the netpots in rockwool, 2 days ago.
I use tapwater.
EC of the solution was .71 on day 1, .67 on day 2 and .66 today.
I was expecting the pH to fluctuate a bit and that’s why I have been measuring it daily, but the results are shocking. It went from 5.8 to 7.5 in 24h. Used pH-down to about 5.5 and today it was at 7.5 again. Used pH down to 5.4 and within one hour it has gone to 6.5 again.

Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts. I don't know how aggressive the nutrients are to metals and if this kind of stainless steel might bleed toxic stuff into the reservoir.... Any idea? April 22, 2019 at 04:01PM Read more about this fix

How to correct Rising pH/PPM runoff

Okay so this is my first run with Hydroponics. I have been running a top feed drip line system. I am running my girls in 6 inch rockwool cubes placed in 7 x 7 pots filled with hydroton. There almost 28 days into veg from seed. I've begun to notice a couple rust spots on my girls nothing too major. I figured starting a little nute burn. So I backed off the nutes a little.
