I have a question about roots. I plan to grow cuttings with fogponics or aeroponics. Then, for the veg and bloom period the cuttings will move to a DWC or E & F. system. I want to stick the cuttings in only Neoprence collars, and they will remain their the total grow. So during vegging and blooming they will remain only in the Neoprence collars. So no hydroton or something like that. Totally mediumless with plant support. Now my question is whether that is possible. I can imagine that with... Hi chaps. I've been manually changing my Wilma res every week but it's been back-breaking work. Removing all 7 plants, removing lid, pumping out the res, wiping it all down, refilling it, putting plants back etc. etc. Is this all necessary? Is there a simpler way of doing it? Could I just pump out as much as I can and then refill without removing everything and cleaning etc? I spent a good 5-6 hours yesterday setting up a new tent and doing all of the above too but surely it shouldn't be this much slog? My first dwc I have had many soil ( wich I much prefer ) I have 4 seeds ( bluz/medi-haze/gorilla glu/ bubble bomb) these have been flipped now for 3 week these pictures are around that age I'm currently at end of 4th week will update 4 week 4 day pics . but as in soil the flowering slows towards end. Hello, Im thinking about giving a flood/drain system a try, but im curious about the roots. I see a lot of growers just put bricks of rockwool down, and end up with a bunch of open space in the drain table. I used bleach to clean my grow tent and it corroded my tent poles; I'm now turned off to the idea. Hydrogen peroxide is a option but I don't believe it. I’ve got an RO filter and am running an RDWC system with ionic soft water hydro nutrients. How much cal mag do I put in? On the bottle it has 2 measurements. As far as I can tell it say 1ml/1L to get a plant back on track and 1ml/2L to keep them sweet. Standard net pots are as deep as they are wide. I'm looking for net pots that are twice as deep as they are wide. I can't find them anywhere and am even considering having them made. (Or build them out of netting and zip ties) The hydrostore girl and I agree they would be great for DWC. Anything I plant less than 6 inches deep doesn't grow worth a damn. Hello guys! I have (big) problems with mold on a indoor felt layer hydroponic system that I want to solve. I have sent one piece of the felt with mold on analysis and it's from the penicillium family. It is big scale so I want to put something in the nutrition tank that is connected to the irrigation system. I have been growing in soil for a little bit now and am thinking about switching to hydro. Would this cut down on some of the maintenance time ie watering? Hi guys, New here but been lurking for a while which is why I think although this is my first grow i seem to have done okay..so far. Just thought I’d stop by to see what you guys think of my single feminised amnesia haze from royal queen seeds :) The setup at the minute is: 75cmx75x100 tent, 4” intake and outtake with a rhino carbon filter, a ‘25’ litre oxypot (although that’s too the brim so 14 litres is more than enough), and a 600w hps running at 250w for the time being. Hey all, not posted for a while. Got 4 Gorilla Glues in at the moment, and decided to try the black label coco from the local hydro shop instead of the usual canna coco pro. Noticed since a few days after potting up there are strange clover weed type shoots appearing above the surface and from the holes in the sides of the airpots. Well, this could go either way. The foam being bad, OR the foam being good. Anyways had a plant started in bucket 5 gal approx 3 weeks ago, first week, awesome, second week approached i said screw it, (was running sterile with h2o2 but had a bottle of hydroguard around. SO i flushed the buckets cleaned immaculately, and started hydroguard, 2 days go by and suddenly alot of foam, not just white but a tinge of yellow, THEN the roots started to turn brown ( great root rot ) .. Hey All - Been having a hard time finding the answer.... I use the full line of GH Flora Series at 60-80 percent strength in RO water DWC. The calimagic adds 300-450 ppm and I was wondering if adding calimagic is necessary? Im leaning towards it not being required for two reasons. I created a top drip system and I have a few questions. I have a 28 gallon res with a submersible pump connected to a 8 outlet drip manifold that puts out 2gph. I have 8 smart pots filled with a 75% mixture of Promix HPCC and 25%Happy Frog.. Day one I fed one time and I let the drip go for about 30 mins. So I’vr been thinking about the necessity of regularly changing reservoirs in RDWC. its generally recommended to change it once a week. What I want to know is what is the maximum? Why is 1 week ideal? Now Oe I know you can’t leave it too long because the plant will create in an inbalced resevoir by taking some elements over others. But asling as the roots and water alter is clean and healthy surely by monitoring and adjusting the EC and ph and topping up the water levels when necessary we could stretch this to 2 or 3 weeks? I recently found out how to make solar powered air pumps. The problem would be keeping the res cool. My idea around this is going for a larger res 10-15gallons but instead of using a tote. Use a bucket style res that way the res is deeper in the "cool" dirt. I'd also add 1-2ft of Styrofoam to the lid snug around the plant. im using a rdwc system, My set up has been fine so far, I’m 3 weeks in to veg and I’ve noticed over the past 2 days my ph has started dropping last night it was 5.8 then I’ve got home from work tonight and it’s dropped to 5.7 and my ppms have risen slightly? I'm trying to find a stand alone source for sulfur to use in my hydroponics system, but I'm reading that sulfur is not water soluble.. Does this mean it will not mix in my reservoir? I now know that Epsom salts contains sulfur and magnesium, but I'm trying to find a way to add sulfur individually to the reservoir without adding other elements at the same time. Hi my ph runoff is 6.8 even tho it goes in at 5.8 and my ec runs off at 2.7 even tho it goes in at just over 1.1, i have tried to flush it with low dosage of nutes but run off on next feed is still the same. I have tried lowering ph to 5.5 but run off still comes out 6.8. Hello talkers before I get a Wilma I would like to know how exactly to get my plants to thrive!!! The mix I'm going to be using will be canna coco pebble mix which is 60% coco and 40% clay pebbles. Unsure on the pot size for the Wilma as it will be a Wilma wide XL with either 18 or 25 litre pots which do you recommend? Oh s#@t yeah the title....EC what ec should I be giving the plants in the Wilma? Will be using canna a&b with the canna additives just boost, PK and rhizo. What frequency? And would I be OK sticking the clones or seeds straight from jiffys to the pots? Oh yeah I'm most likely going to be scrogging them. There's a few questions I'm unsure of as never tried coco have grown in soil but really got a bad hate with the stuff. Hey y'all, I've recently started cultivating greens again and I've lost touched with it ever since my last grow which as years ago. Previously i was doing soil and now I'm starting and venturing into coco coir and soon enough DWC. So i accidentaly bought promix hp mix, thinking it was soil, but i found out it isnt. So how can i grow using promix hp? do i treat it like coco coir? hey all, a cousin of mine will be in town and and said he can waters my girl. I'm leaving town and my plant will be un attended for about 2 days which will be ok because ill top it off before i leave. its a 3 gallon DWC bubbler, which will be getting short when he gets here but should be ok. i'll leave instructions for him.
