Top drip perlite/vermiculite 50/50 mix recirculating setup

My idea is I'd like to do a recirculating top drip tray. I want to use cloth pots filled with a 50/50 mix of perlite and vermiculite. I want to irrigate for a set period of time out of a resevoir underneath the tray and have it drain back into the same resevoir.

Thinking of fitting 30 X 1 gallon cloth pot in a 4x4 tray in SOG style small plants.

what's the best way to cover the top of the cloth pots from light (panda with X's cut)?? to prevent algae form growing in the perlite...

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts. I don't know how aggressive the nutrients are to metals and if this kind of stainless steel might bleed toxic stuff into the reservoir.... Any idea? April 22, 2019 at 04:01PM Read more about this fix
