Hydroponics: Touching water or not?

So I had a simple question. When starting to grow without soil, does the rockwool have it be TOUCHING the water or do I keep my water line below my pots?

Will the roots grow into the water or do I have to have the water line touching the bottom of the rockwool, please help, thanks.

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts. I don't know how aggressive the nutrients are to metals and if this kind of stainless steel might bleed toxic stuff into the reservoir.... Any idea? April 22, 2019 at 04:01PM Read more about this fix
