Root rot prevention & other newbie questions

Dipping a toe into hydro (small drip system). I've read that in addition to close attention to ph and feeding, I need to add something to counter root rot. I'm also planning to run my pump for 15 minutes every 6 hours. Any advice (even ridicule) will be considered...

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Take the little one with squeezers and place it gently, leaving the shell's side in an upside position, between two pebbles, to make it easier for the head to grow and reach for the light.... Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts.
