Should Ph remain mostly constant?

I know that each nutrient has a pH range at which it is best absorbed and hydro is supposed to be 5.5-6.5 pH, so should I be pH'ing my DWC down to 5.5 and let it ride up to 6.3 or so before dosing down? I have a continual pH/EC/temp controller hooked up to a peristaltic pump with pH down so I can set it to add pH down when it hits a certain pH.

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts. I am modifying my Power Grower RDWC systems to have a 13 Gallon Reservoir. And in general my tendency has been to make my PPM stronger then what they actually consume nutrient wise! I have done this because they don't seem to burn and because they can consume the whole entirely of the reservoir in one day at their peak flowering cycle. How to correct Rising pH/PPM runoff

Okay so this is my first run with Hydroponics. I have been running a top feed drip line system. I am running my girls in 6 inch rockwool cubes placed in 7 x 7 pots filled with hydroton.
