Hempy Pot Size vs Yield Question

So I have been studying Xare's 2L Hempy grow and I really think it would work well for my setup, but I am concerned with pulling less than 1 oz. per plant. I am wondering, If I switched from 2L to 3 Gallon Would that increase the plant size in the same amount of veg/flower time? It looks like to me (my very novice opinion) that Xare's plants are rootbound (although he definitely has this down to a science). Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts.
