Distilled water versus RO -

We are on well water and the PPM is now consistently coming out to 250+. We have a small countertop water distiller unit that we used to use in the city to cut down on our fluoride and chlorine intake. It will produce about 3gal a day, the garden needs 6gal per week so it will cover it.

My question, is there any reason to invest in an RO system if I can produce distilled water right now?

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Take the little one with squeezers and place it gently, leaving the shell's side in an upside position, between two pebbles, to make it easier for the head to grow and reach for the light.... Reservoir - how cold is too cold?

I figured you hydro guys (DWC) would know about water temps as it is so critical for you. I know lower temps have higher O2, like 68 is ideal I believe. But if you get much lower like in the high 50s will that cause stress to the plant? from Hydroponics / Aeroponics read more
