Increasing root oxygenation indecision

I running nft tubes and want to increase oxygen to the roots. I’m torn between increasing flow or putting the pump on a short cycle timer and running it like 5 min on, 30 off. I’m worried that pulsing the flow would leave the roots in the solution that the root mat holds for the off time defeating the purpose of pulsing in the first place.
Any thoughts?

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Take the little one with squeezers and place it gently, leaving the shell's side in an upside position, between two pebbles, to make it easier for the head to grow and reach for the light....
