DIY pH up with calcitic lime?

Im sure this has been discussed before but has anyone done this before? Just dissolve some of the lime into a jug and use it as pH up? I figure it will raise the pH as well as supply calcium; if I use dolomite lime then I also will get the added benefit of the Mg. I figure that the carbonate buffer also has a good buffering capacity as well. Just wondering if anyone has given it a shot yet. Thanks for the feedback.

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts. I am modifying my Power Grower RDWC systems to have a 13 Gallon Reservoir. And in general my tendency has been to make my PPM stronger then what they actually consume nutrient wise! I have done this because they don't seem to burn and because they can consume the whole entirely of the reservoir in one day at their peak flowering cycle. How to correct Rising pH/PPM runoff

Okay so this is my first run with Hydroponics. I have been running a top feed drip line system. I am running my girls in 6 inch rockwool cubes placed in 7 x 7 pots filled with hydroton.
