Killing males in dwc with tangled roots

How do you remove any males in a dwc 4 plant tub with tangled roots ? Can you just cut the males at the stump and leave the roots in the tub with no ill side effects? The roots with the stumps would continue to grow would they not ? which means no need to try and untangle roots by tearing them apart and causing stress?

Hey all! I thought I'd share an experiment about achieving from seeds to R/DWC directly. First, sprout the seed in paper towel... Should take ~48 hours, then fill your netpot with clays. Take the little one with squeezers and place it gently, leaving the shell's side in an upside position, between two pebbles, to make it easier for the head to grow and reach for the light....
