Growing hydroponic with organic nutrients

I'm already on my second grow doing this. Everyone tells me this is a stupid thing to do. Why is this stupid, aside from being difficult? The first grow would have been flawless if I hadn't switched the light cycle over too soon ( plants were kinda short ). This will probably be the last run with this method. What do other folks think?

I am modifying my Power Grower RDWC systems to have a 13 Gallon Reservoir. And in general my tendency has been to make my PPM stronger then what they actually consume nutrient wise! Is AISI-302 stainless steel good for the reservoir with nutrients?

I am wondering if AISI-302 stainless steel parts are suited for permantent contact with the nutrients? It is because I am thinking about using a non return valve which in the reservoir which has AISI-302 grade parts.
